Veterans Services

Chowan County Veterans Services is committed to providing assistance to our County Veterans and their families. Proudly serving over 1,200 of our County Hero's as well as their spouses, widows, and children, the Veterans Services Department offers numerous services including:

  • Filing compensation and pension applications
  • Assisting with applications for medical care at the VA Hospital
  • Education benefits for children of County Veterans
  • Filing VA loan eligibility certificates
  •  Assisting with burial information and benefits
  • Information on Veterans Life Insurance
  • Answering any questions about VA paperwork
  • Serving as a liaison between the Veteran and the Department of Veterans Affairs

If you are interested in applying for any VA benefits, need assistance with any VA paperwork, or have any questions or concerns for our office, please fill out our Online Information Request Form HERE, or call our office.

Our Veteran Service Officer will be happy to meet with you to answer any questions you may have about your eligibility for benefits. We can then help you submit any necessary paperwork and assist you in gathering the documentation for your claim.

Office Hours are Flexible and May Change
Tuesday 8:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Thursday 8:30am - 12:30pm

If you are in need of Emergency Assistance outside of our normal business hours, please contact the Elizabeth City Veterans Services Office at (919) 664-1150. Their office is located at 1023 US Hwy 17 S, Suite 2  Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
