Special Meeting Notice – Monday, April 6, 2026 – 4:30pm
The Chowan County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 4:30pm before the regular 6pm meeting. The purpose of this special meeting will be a closed session to meet in accordance with NCGS 143-318-11 (a) (1) in conjunction with NCGS 132-6.1 (c) following this discussion the Board will continue to meet in closed session in accordance with NCGS 143-318-11(a) (3 and 4) Attorney Client Privilege and Economic Development.  The regular meeting at 6:00pm will follow.

Special and Regular Meeting – Monday, April 6, 2026 – 6:00pm
The Board of Equalization and Review will convene at 6:00pm on Monday April 6, 2026, the meeting agenda is attached.

Following the Board of Equalization and Review meeting, the Chowan County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the Chowan County Public Safety Center, 305 West Freemason St. Edenton.

Due to the current weather forecast, and out of an abundance of caution, the regular 6:000pm meeting of the Chowan County Board of Commissioners, that was scheduled for this evening, has been POSTPONED/Rescheduled. The meeting will now be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 6pm at the Chowan County Public Safety Center, 305 West Freemason St. Edenton, NC.

The 5:30pm Special Meeting that was scheduled for tonight has been cancelled.

The Chowan County Board of Commissioners will have their annual retreat work session on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in the 2nd floor training room of the Chowan County Public Safety Center, 305 West Freemason St. Edenton, NC.

The retreat will start at 9:00am and conclude by 4:00pm.

Representatives with the Management and Personnel Services (MAPS) Group will present the Board of Commissioners with a proposed Classification and Pay Study and Personnel Policy. The Board will discuss the recommendations from the report.  No Board action is anticipated.

The special meeting will be held in the Chowan County Public Safety Center (305 West Freemason St. Edenton, NC). The purpose of this special meeting will be a closed session to meet in accordance with NCGS 143-318-11 (a) (3 and 5) attorney client privilege (discussion of a lawsuit: Rev Dr. John Shannon, Sherrone Battle, Stella Brothers, Debra Miller and Rod Phillips v. Town of Edenton, Town Council, Chowan County and Board of Commissioners) and Contract Negotiations.
