When are my taxes due?

2023 Annual Property Taxes Due January 5, 2024

The 2023 Annual Property Tax bills have been mailed out to current owners of all property in Chowan County. Tax bills will have a due date of September 1st, 2023 and will be considered delinquent if not paid on or before January 5th, 2024. We offer an OPTIONAL 4 month installment plan to help our county taxpayers satisfy this obligation prior to the delinquency date so please take advantage of it! *See your tax bill for additional information!* We also offer automatic draft payments as well as allowing pre-payments as early as January each year for the following years tax obligation to help ease the financial burden. Contact our collections team to learn more!
